Teacher Internet Resource: Personal Hygiene K-2

My Hygiene

Why this is the best teacher internet resource:

The reason this was the best choice is because it gives specific health subject lessons, at any selected grade level. This provides a full lesson plan, interactive slides, review, and assessment tools for the lessons they provide. While other sites offer these options, this also has links to teacher resources based on the topic you selected. Additionally, it connects to “GONOODLE” a popular site that connects lessons with movement and interaction, to further students’ learning on the specific topic you chose. No other site we found provided so many additional resources.

Core Integration:

Although in a more indirect way, this also ties into Science lessons. It covers germs, and how to prevent them. As well as teaching about germs interacting with the body. Furthermore, it challenges students to create checklists to fulfill these hygiene goals. Practice in creating checklists is a useful skill for students not only in scientific practice, but literacy as well.

For a follow up assignment, students could write a few sentences or draw a picture of how this might relate to other scientific concepts (such as bacteria being made out of cells, which is what living things are made of, etc.).
