Trump in View: How Composition Effects Our View of the President

No matter your political views, we have all seen at least one funny picture of our Commander in Chief, Donald Trump. While these pictures are fun to look at, the underlying assumption when it comes to composition is not as fun. Take this picture for example.

With this, the photographer took into account the background and facial features of Trump. The photographer made sure that Trump was smiling, the American flag was in the background and there was no major distractions. This could give viewers a sense of realism in how Trump is shown like any other person. Now take a look at this photo.

With this one, the photographer changed the angle to not only show the flare in Trump’s nostril, but give him a sense of power over others. Of course, there is no evidence to say the photographer did this on purpose, but because of the composition, the public could have a hard time feeling that same sense of security as in the picture previous. These two pictures goes to show the divide in the media when it comes to covering Donald Trump.
