The Beauty of…

Hello Reader!

I like considering myself an observer of life, I like watching what goes on around me and letting life play out like a movie on a big screen. But lately, I’ve been observing (more than usual) the sadness of life; friends and loved ones going through dark times and feel like losing hope. I’m not gonna lie, there’s been instances in my life where life has gotten me down and it feels like nothing is going right. However, it’s the darkest of times where our light shines the brightest (I’m pretty sure I’m quoting a movie or cheesy quote I saw on the internet, BUT IT’S TRUE). Being in college for five months now (I’m not saying I’m experienced or an expert), I’ve learned quite a lot about life. And here is one of them:

Life. Is. Too. Short.

That’s it. Life is too short. Life is too short for arguments, for stress, for sadness, for pessimism, for negativity, for homework (Just kidding, I feel like sometimes it is though). It’s the littlest things in life that make living so BEAUTIFUL. Take smiling for instance: to be able to smile is one of the greatest gifts that I believe God has blessed us with. Smiling is like letting your light shine in the darkness that surrounds you (Again, I sound like I’m quoting a movie). Smiling practically screams:

“HEY! LIFE MAY BRING ME DOWN! BUT IF I CAN SMILE THROUGH IT, IT JUST MEANS I CAN GET THROUGH IT AND SO CAN YOU!”

Smiling is so contagious…I mean look at them…doesn’t it make you want to smile?

So to my family, friends, and readers out there I want you to know it does get better. You just have to let it get better. Smile through whatever you’re going through and say “Life is too short…and whatever I’m dealing with, it will get better.”

I love you all and I hope this is what you needed to see.

Love,

Kate

  1. Yup. Needed that. 🙂 Was feeling kinda overwhelmed and praying and God said “read that blogs that Katelyn wrote.” So I did. ?
“Let your light shine before all men that they may see your good works (like your smile) and glorify our Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 — Let you light shine!!

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:14-15 NLT

    AND SMILE!
