Japan: Sawara Festival

Hello Reader!

A couple of days ago, Mama and I went to Sawara in Chiba to witness my first ever Japanese festival. Mama also brought her friends, Ika-chan and Iku-chan (you can see where there may be confusion in names).

At the Sawara festival, the people pulled giant floats of famous figures in Japanese history (maybe Gods?). The entire festival was breathtaking and the floats were so big and beautiful. I liked the musicians that were on the floats and playing lovely melodies.

Side Note: It was also extremely hot in Sawara (I’m surprised I didn’t get heat stroke).

The entire time I also taught Mama and her friends English. It’s always fun teaching people of a different culture English. I taught them the word, annual, and other phrases and sayings.

I also played that fish game, Kingyo-sukui, where the fish catcher is made of paper and you have infinite amount of times to catch a fish until the paper rips. Guess what? I got a fish on my first try (professional fish catcher). We named my fish Taro-chan…unfortunately he died two days later (rest in peace Taro-chan).

I had such a wonderful time experiencing Japanese culture. Thank you Mama, Iku-chan, and Ika-chan

Love,

Keito
