Another Chapter: Sophomore Year

Hi! Hi!

It’s me, Kate (just in case you forgot my name).

Here’s a brief synopsis of life thus far.

I am no longer living in the dorms and currently residing in an apartment fairly close to campus. Classes started yesterday (Wednesday, 9/27), but I’ve been in the apartment for a little over a week. I’m still getting to know my roommates, but thus far they don’t seem like crazy psychos, they’re actually pretty great girls. I’ve been cooking my own lunch and dinner, which is satisfying as well as nerve-racking (if you don’t know what to make or don’t want your food to spoil).

I’m not gonna lie though I’m really proud of myself for cooking my own food and not depending on eating out (and my food is somewhat decent, I haven’t died yet!). No offense Mom and Dad (and if you did come visit me, I would not decline the offer of eating out). I can imagine my father saying “Well maybe if you cooked more often back at home, we could’ve saved money from eating out” and my answer to you father is: when I come back home for breaks, I’ll cook more because now I actually know how to cook things *insert winking with tongue sticking out emoji.*

Besides the independent life, I still have no social media (besides Facebook to post my blogs). I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about letting go of something toxic to your life. I’m not saying social media is toxic (well maybe sometimes), but it’s the addiction of constantly checking that is.

With social media gone I now have the free time to focus more on school (hopefully) and get homework and studying done. The classes I’m taking this year is: Biology, Japanese, and Physics (all three quarters…yay). All three classes have their share of difficulty and I hope I have the strength (mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually) to tackle it head on. Furthermore I realized without social media I’m starting to find things calling to my heart such as: reading adventure books, practicing languages, writing, blogging, etc. (Hmm…maybe I might change my major…JUST KIDDING FATHER! I’ll make those into side jobs).

Well…that’s basically it…here’s to a new chapter of my life.

I sent my parents this picture because I didn’t dress like a hobo or a boy my first day of school (I thought they would be proud of me lol)

Until next time. Love,

Kate
