Who is Casar Jacobson?
Casar Jacobson is a deaf Canadian civil rights activist and entrepreneur. She started her career as a pageant contestant, winning awards such as miss Canada globe, miss peace Europe, and several other awards. Through her title as miss peace Europe, she became acquainted with the United Nations. She eventually earned a job as an ambassador for the UN advocating for disability, equality, and Gender rights. In 2017, she explained how she was working with other entrepreneurs to develop non invasive technology for restoring hearing to people who are hard of hearing. She also assists with connecting other people who are hard of hearing to other entrepreneurs to assist in helping them start their own businesses.
Casar Jacobson is one example why advocacy for people with disabilities is important. Instead of creating her own organization, she joined an already existing organization and used her position there to highlight and fix issues people in marginalized groups face.
