Pet nutrition and well-being are huge topics of interest for pet parents all around the world. Many pet food companies lack transparency in their ingredients and processes. This fact leads to many recalls of kibble and treats for domesticated animals. To avoid harmful additives and recall scares, many people have switched their pup’s diet from kibble to raw diets.
Another factor that has contributed to the increased interest in raw diets for dogs, is the popularity of natural and organic products for humans (1). In many places, dogs are seen as members of the family. This cultural belief leads owners to have increased concern for not only their pet’s health but the palatability of their dog’s food as well. This blog aims to explore the nutritional differences between kibble diets and raw diets, as well as the cultural debates between the two.
