My name is Melanie Hull and I am an undergraduate student majoring in psychology at Western. I am excited to be a research assistant in Michi Matsukura’s lab which focuses on eye tracking and attention. I am interested in the clinical side of psychology and hope my participation in this lab gives me insight into the world of research so I can have diverse experiences going forward. I plan to go onto graduate school and then begin working with teenagers and young adults as a clinician.
My name is Skyler Noel and I am an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology at Western Washington University. I am eager to join Michi Matsukura’s visual cognition lab as a research assistant, focusing on attention and memory. I am excited to acquire new skills in the lab for my eventual goal of understanding clinical mental health issues (including the effects of age-related developments on mental health) from cognitive perspectives. My future plans include pursuing graduate studies in clinical mental health counseling.
My name is Malcolm Hendricks and I am an undergraduate student at Western majoring in psychology with a minor in computer science. I look forward to joining Michi Matsukura’s lab as a research assistant. I hope to learn about the cognitive research process as well as deepen my understanding of cognitive functions by studying attention and memory. I want to use this experience to widen my opportunities after graduation and hopefully use it in conjunction with CS (computer science) to study the distinctions between artificial and biological cognition.
