Staring at that title in the face I really despise it. Hopefully something fun will come to me as I continue to write these blog posts. I’m thinking that each post will be of a collective. For example, I will include in this post all of the class notes that I’ve taken thus far and every post of this nature afterward I will strive to make weekly. There will be some pictures and any directly quoted notes will be put in [brackets]. So! Without further ado:
March 30th: On the first day of class Cathy spoke about what this class is about, duh! She’d said that [rhetoric –> meaning we create with words]. She then discussed what she expected of us including this assignment, our mini and final projects, the readings we would be assigned etc. She showed us an example being Emily’s journal which was badass. It was done in such a creative way and I was inspired but I knew I’d never get myself to think let alone jot down notes in such a way as that.
April 1st: The next scheduled day of class was cancelled and I thought that was a bummer but sickness happens~
April 4th: I took notes on the tentative (green) calendar Cathy had passed out in class.

April 6th: In response to reading about classical rhetoric, Cathy had asked us to remake it with images. [think of how 1) to remix info 2) find definitions]. I have yet to finish this assignment BUT WHAT I HAVE/HAD PLANNED IS BEING MADE and I will post it asap… She then broke things down for us.
[Rhetorical pose, an oration, wearing togas where the bb bois are chillin, agora

April 11th: Cathy told us a very cute origin story about her relationship with Anis Bawarchi before going over what we’d be doing for the week and more about what she expects from our mini project.
[1. What are the essential elements of this theory? (RGT)
2. Whatever are the abstractions, give specifics; examples
3. What are important critical stakes?
4. Power(agency) over our lives -> we wouldn’t see day to day thanks to society/self
5. How are these created?
6. Who can resist?]
I think I know what it is I want to do for my mini project for this week but I’m not sure if what I’m imagining will come through in the final product. I’m hoping to be able to make a video with something (origami maybe?) to help me illustrate my points. I wanted to do a stop motion piece but that may take up time to learn how to do it. I hope to make time to practice with that art to use in this class before the end of the quarter.
[Genre -> features -> what are they -> reciprocal -> way of thinking -> mind maps -> resistance to “normal” -> agency -> in tech age -> are artifacts -> social constructs
