Survivors #1: The Empty City

Survivors #1: The Empty City so it is about a golden and white retriever mix name Lucky. This dog love his freedom, and he feels sorry for dogs that are tamed into pets. This book is a young adult fantasy fiction therefore the language would definitely informal but appropriate for the readers. Since it was classify as a young adult book children or “young adults” are its main audience. It’s about 300+ pages so it would take me less than a day to finish but again I am a fast reader. So typically normal kids will spend a few days on this book. I’m sure like all adventure book it should evoke some sort of emotion. Like when the character is faced with a difficult ostable of when it get hurt readers will feel sad, or when he accomplishes what he set out to do we can’t help but feel happy for it. Within the first chapter and summary I have read it seems to me Lucky does not actually fit into the general norms of golden retriever. Well general norms that are present in the first few pages. Unlike many golden that love attention of a human and want to be a good boy, he on the other hand want to be free and in the wild like a wolf. It’s also odd that Lucky want to be a lone wolf since most golden’s personality seem to do well with others. However the book did describe him as having a golden fur that is thick with the classic dark eyes. So yes in general Lucky did not fit the classical personality of a golden, but he did look like a golden. Who knows maybe there will be character development later on the series and he will slowly become a standard golden. You won’t know until you read the full series.
