What did we conclude?

If you have strong literacy skills, you’ll on average know more about politics.

 

If you’re conservative, you’re slightly more likely to have stronger literacy skills. Does that make you intellectually superior to liberals? Probably not.

 

This study is significant because it provides quantitative evidence that emphasizes the idea of deconstructing stereotypes. Neither liberals or conservatives came out substantially ahead of the other in any direct comparison test, and therefore we cannot make assumptions about one’s intellectual prowess based solely on their political opinions.
