Our work is indebted to our local Holocaust survivors. On April 28, 2003, Western Washington University recognized Noémi Ban, Magda Dorman, and Fred Fragner for their contributions to education.
Kunle Ojikutu, Special Assistant to the President for Diversity, presented each survivor a plaque which read:
Western Washington University Recognizes

For their willingness to bear witness to the unfathomable events of the Holocaust, their dedication to the pursuit of truth, their contributions to dissemination of knowledge, and their service to our academic community.
