A more lengthy definition of RedForEd is: the RedForEd movement is a battle cry for a nonpartisan education reform movement across the nation. Funding is being gutted, teachers are walking out on their jobs, due to their pay becoming stagnant.

With educators walking out on the job, administrators started scrambling and wondering what they were going to do to keep their staff. While teachers had the support of their administrators, it was a race with admin and the district to come up with a sufficient enough contact to keep them to stay. The only downside was the teachers were going after the state legislature and the district at the same time, due to insufficient funding and pay.
