Research – Potential Students
If you are interested in working with me as an undergraduate researcher or MS student, the first step is to take a look at the information on my website to make sure our interests match.
For graduate students:
Requirements for acceptance as specified by the graduate school are here. Your degree with me would most likely be in Environmental Science or the Environmental Science Marine and Estuarine Science Program. We accept students for Fall entry only; our specific requirements and other details are located here. Please look at both the graduate school and Environmental Science department website.
I would recommend contacting me before you apply, although this isn’t required. If you are visiting campus, I would welcome the opportunity to to meet with you. As an alternative, we can talk on the phone or Zoom. It is best to start with an e-mail though.
For undergraduate students:
I would be happy to talk to you about conducting independent research under my guidance. Some undergraduate projects have been proposed by the student and others by me. This research can be conducted as an Independent Study class, your Senior Thesis, Senior Project, or as an extra component of your degree (no course credit).
Contact me by e-mail and we will set up an appointment. In addition to what your research interests are, some things I’ll be interested in knowing are: why you are interested in conducting research, what you hope to accomplish, what your availability is, and what skills/training you have.
