When writing my short story, I focused on one incident instead of a string of situations like a book would. Most short stories take place in a single setting and have a limited number of characters. My story follows these guidelines because it has about three characters and takes place in one neighborhood. It also covers a short period of time as everything occurs in less than half a day. My story also has many of the key elements that are usually in every story. The themes are isolation and awareness because every character in my story are isolated at some point and the main conflict is how aware each character is.   My short story is full of tension and although the turning point is at the very end, it can still be considered a climax or crisis. I would consider the sub genre for this story as fiction or fantasy.
