VP1 Intro Week!

Hey guys! I’m spending the next couple weeks in Oakland, California. Have you ever been? Well, I love it here. I have some family roots in the bay area and I’m always grateful for the time I’m able to spend here. Before I start in on the prompts I wanted to share where I’ve been doing a lot of my work/studying. Have you ever heard of wework?? My cousin is a project manager for TaskRabbit and chooses to work from the wework workspaces as something different than her home office space. Wework is incredible. Check out what they are about here: WeWork (@wework) • Instagram photos and videos I wanted to share this with you because it’s based in an entreprenurial spirit. Let me know what you think!

The Oakland wework. This is just a sample of what it looks like inside. “Create your life’s work.”
The individual “telephone booths” are set up for the privacy of zoom calls and conferences. So cool!!
A live shot of me probably during our E&I class HAHA!
Love the wework values they have posted around their space.

How’s it going…

With your team?

Sometimes you get so lucky with a team picked at random. This is one of those experiences. And, I am so grateful. All of us are excited, determined, big dreamers and great communicators. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as a team and as individuals.

With the evidence-based entrepreneurship skills?

This quarter I am taking a course in sociology called research methods. It is probably one of the most difficult classes I’ve ever taken but in relation to entrepreneurship I could not value what I’m learning more. Primary and secondary research is worth the time it requires to produce valid and reliable evidence to support a new product/service. I can’t wait to take what I’m learning in research methods into both VP1 and VP2.

With discovering a new brand opportunity?

I found this awesome resource for thinking about rebranding and created a little diagram of the 7 steps the articles mentions: https://99designs.com/blog/logo-branding/how-to-rebrand/

I would highly recommend using this resource to look at different ways to rebrand:

An Affirmation

Affirmations are a huge part of my self-love practice. I try to write them out every morning before I do anything else. Here is one that really resonates with me lately. Have a great week! 🙂

Always rooting for your own unique journey,

Kristina

  1. Hey Kristina!
I, too, thought about how our research methods class ties into E&I! I’m glad you recognized that. I agree that it is very difficult and can be time consuming to look through sources and identify the right ones to use. Our syllabus even suggests us to spend 20 hours a week in the class. That’s a lot of hours.
I had no idea you were out-of-state right now. That’s super cool.
    Best,
    Molly

  2. Awesome post! I actually just watched a documentary on Hulu about WeWork! If you’re into documentaries I recommend watching it, especially since you went to one!
Also I love the affirmation you chose. I think it’s important to remember you have control of your life and you control how you see it! I should really write affirmations on my walls, always puts me in a better mood!
