Reflect on the IDI workshop:

Brene Brown

Reflecting on the IDI test was a super impactful exercise after taking the actual IDI test. The results did surprise me and the feelings that came up for me during both the test and workshop were embarrassment, discontent, shame, and fear. My biggest takeaway from that day was to continue learning. Continue showing up for the uncomfortable conversations and to continue diving deeper and deeper into areas in which I’m unintentionally hurting different cultures because I’m not aware enough. This resonated with me deeply because I work within organizations where I am motivated to show up, give a voice and to listen rather than respond.

Reflect on your experience at the E4 Shift N Share presentations:

This quarter was my turn to present during SHIFT N’ SHARE alongside Katie and Kaelyn! Here’s a link to our presentation: https://wwu.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=d6d77c1b-8f54-46aa-80f1-ae3f002432e5

  • What is your experience with mind-mapping? How did it feel to use that to take notes?

I love this TEDTalk to better explain why mind mapping is a super successful method of taking notes and forging connections to your bigger ideas.

How do you learn best? Visually? Orally?

I learn best when I read the content. I’ve always retained information so much better by reading. Visually also helps me to learn best.

Do you use a specific method of time management? If so, what is it? If not, how might you integrate one?

I do not use a specific method of time management and normally that has a lot to do with my struggles with chronic disease and fatigue. BUT with periods of time when I am feeling more energetic and clear I notice having morning rituals and night rituals help set the tone for my day so much more successfully than when I don’t.

I’ve been brainstorming on how to best integrate a specific method of time management for like the past year now. So I’m super grateful this question is being brought to my attention again.

What habits are you trying to build in your life? What challenges are coming up with that?

I love this question. I’ll write up a list as my response:

  1. 2 hours every morning to myself; meaning waking up by 6AM (I need to systematize this though.)
    1. WHY? Because I have the most clarity and peace in the morning. And I want this to be a time to write, move slower, read and move from that space rather than one that always feels rushed.
  2. Walks with Mom
    1. WHY? I love her and love time alone listening to who my mom is. Plus it’s great for both of us to get outside.
  3. Financial Freedom habits
    1. My biggest identity shift dream is to become both financially educated and independent. I want to live simply but oh so LARGELY! I want to be able to have choices and support my loved ones.
  4. ANDDDD, sleep. Big, restful, rejuvinating sleep
    1. WHY? because well that just makes life move more smoothly in every AREA.

Have you ever felt imposterism? If so, explain! How have you dealt or not dealt with that?

“Where you feel like your success is all a fraud.” <——— Whewwwww of course. I get a lot of great feedback from parents and staff (co-workers, bosses) about how I coach. And as much as I know I’m highly skilled, it still feels like I don’t deserve the praise I recieve.
