“You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive.”
― Maya Angelou
What do I think of when I read our “Culture of Belonging” statement?
When I read our “Culture of Belonging” statement I thought of how amazing it is to be a part of a program that prioritizes these values. From the life experience I have so far I can look back with confidence and know that the best projects, the best moments have been when there was a collective feeling of belonging. These collective feelings of belongings were not when I was with the humans that I might have known my whole life but when I was surrounded by ‘stranger’s ‘ all working towards a common goal. It’s so liberating and heartfelt when humans with big hearts and change makers come together and say, “You know what we are all so different but it’s in that which makes us so much more powerful.”
Diversity in humankind is a strength. #cultureofbelonging
How am I preparing for success this quarter?
I am preparing for success this quarter by continuing to value connection with my peers by reaching out and asking, “Hey! How are you?” and by moving into E&I as an E2 who gained so much insight as in E1 moving forward. I am also preparing for success by taking the time to review the learning toolkit videos, reviewing the class calendar and making time for office hours on Friday’s.
What do I expect for my E2 journey this quarter?
I’m going to draft a list for the answer to this question 🙂
- I expect to make really awesome connections with my peers and build relationships that will be a powerful addiction to the change makers of the world.
- I expect to learn even more about how to best organize my time as an entreprenur.
- I expect to put my best into each project, relationship and myself during this quarter.
How might I apply this weeks learning to my venture?
“Accessibility means the ability of everyone regardless of their condition to have access to something.”
Oyetoke Tobi Emmanuel
This weeks main takeaway was thinking about how might my team and I define accessibility and how this applies to us as entrepreneurs and change makers. In regards to our VP1 project it’s asking questions like is our program accessible to all? Is our program taking into account the diversity of our demographic? Is the program we our creating accessible even if one couldn’t get to campus for example?
What sparks do I have and how are they inspiring my work?
Oh man I have so many sparks! I set my intention every morning to let this spark guide me in everything I do. Here is a short list of what comes to mind off the top:
1.Healing
2.Self Love Awarness
3.The young women of this generation
4.Creating safe spaces
5.Reading & Knowledge
6.Diversity
7.Conversations
8.Big hearted people
9.Fitness & Movement
Kristina,
Wow I am extremely impressed with your WordPress and the entire layout, it simply looks awesome and well put together. I particularly enjoy the quotes you use throughout the post, very engaging and reflective. I really enjoyed reading over your hopes and expectations for this quarter as an E2, and was ecstatic to hear your E1 quarter was a success.
As for your sparks I believe these are definitely unique and special in everyway, in particular I was excited to see healing as a spark, I hadn’t considered that as being a spark but there is definitely many occurrence’s where I have guided myself to be help people and also in a sense help create those safe spaces you mentioned.
Again really loved the post and your entire website, excited to stay connected this quarter and don’t hesitate to reach out for support in any way.

Hey Kristina,
It always so lovely to see your level of engagement with the content in this program, so much passion and drive is reflected in your participation, so excited to be in a quad together this quarter!
As one of the many co-authors of the Culture of Belonging statement, I am always both inspired and intrigued by the ways in which the words resonate with different individuals in our umbrella, I think your focus on diversity is so key to the healthy development of any balanced and flourishing community, and I am so excited to see the ways in which we can cultivate this in our spaces.
I love your common thread of emphasis on the setting of intentions. From engaging with peers this quarter to letting your sparks guide you, it is really inspiring to see and co-motivating to read, I personally have found intention getting lost in the fray of many overlapping projects and this post was a really great reminder to me to always be revisiting our “why” when moving through time and space. Best of luck to you this quarter!

Hey Kristina! It was awesome to read your journal entry! Your WordPress site is awesome and set up so great! I really loved reading about your goals for your time as a E2. You already put your all into your projects and I can tell that. And you put effort into the personal relationships that develop through these groups we work in. I would just like to say that working with you on both VP1 projects really showed that you are more than capable of your goals and it’s going to be awesome to see what you put together for this VP2 and beyond that!
