Hey, I’m Kristina!

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”

Brene Brown

Hey team,

My name is Kristina (She/Her) and I am E5 this quarter. I’m a returning student to WWU in the past couple years and I am just very grateful to be back in school majoring and minoring in areas of study that I love and find purpose in. *It took almost 6 years from the time I left WWU the first time in 2013 to nail what I wanted to study down LOL. But life advice, the 6 year journey is exactly what I needed to fall in love with school again and what that could mean in my own life.*

Throughout those 6 years I lived around the nation (mainly the South) teaching/working with minority youth and launching my own venture project which you will learn a lot about because it is through this program that I am working on evolving the original venture.

I am majoring in Sociology with a double minor in both Entrepreneurship and the professional writing minor. Which I have chosen these three to come together and compliment what is that I’m trying to do as far as a career. My goal this quarter is find an amazing summer internship working in Oakland, CA or Chicago, IL.

Hmmmm, my hobbies? You can find me outside in the sunshine reading a book or walking a dog. You can find me working out at they gym (lifting heavy things is good for my anxiety and focus haha). And you can find me out to coffee with a friend talking about life.

What about you? What are your hobbies?

Also please reach out to connect. Big fan of seeing what we can do as a program to help everyone succeed.

Why did you join Entrepreneurship or why are you in the Entrepreneurship minor?

I joined Entrepreneurship because I love it. I think you have to love entrepreneurship to stick with it LOL but long story short I love the freedom to pursue my passions and to show up in the world in a unique way. I have a lot of passions and big dreams of being surrounded by others who want to make change in the world. This seemed like the brave path, so I took on the minor.

How did the first day of class go for you? What stuck out to you? What areas do you need more clarity?

First day was great! It was fun to be able to participate even on zoom with the vision board activity. BTW, Canva has AMAZING mood board templates that look awesome and are easy to use 🙂

How are you preparing for success this quarter?

Writing all the larger and smaller due dates down each Sunday. And by reaching out when I have any sort of question/concern. Last quarter I learned the hard way what happens when I delay asking for guidance.

On A Relatable Note:

I love podcasts and this Brene Brown podcast episode on why toxic culture is serious especially in the workplace was really great. Do you listen to podcasts? And if so which ones, can you turn me on to?!
