Each year, a select few students from environmental toxicology take the spring SMOCS class. For more than a quarter, they develop a proposal and carry out laboratory research to discover how toxicants travel through soil, sediment and water. They experiment with treatment options, testing which are effective and under what circumstances. Their work is documented through video and podcast interviews by the SMoCS journalism students.
