Noteworthy data included how at least 72% of surveyors express feeling a sense of loneliness, anxiety, and self doubt, as well as 62% expressing a sense of depression.  As well as almost 80% of those surveyed rating the severity of those emotions to be 3 or above on a 1-5 scale. 

However, 70% of people say that social media either neutrally impacts their mental health of positively impacts their mental health when asked about their depression and anxiety. On a scale from one to five, with 3 being neutral, only 20% of people rated the impact of social media at a four or above.

Interestingly 76% of surveyors expressed a satisfaction of life 3 and above. Most surveyors also expressed their main reason for using social media being to connect with friends. Through a lot of people agreed they would probably be more productive if they didn’t spend as much time on social media. Overall most people felt that social media communication had a positive of neutral impact on their mental wellbeing.

What this graph tells us is that people feel they communicate and connect well with others when they talk through social media, that is is an efficient and effective method of communication.

Thus pie chart shows that over 50% of people get less sleep due to social media use.

This graph tells us that a significant number of people experience a negative correlation between hours of sleep and social media use.
