UPDATED March 7, 2018
Due to federal court orders on January 9, 2018 and February 13, 2018, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has resumed accepting requests to renew DACA applications past the originally proposed program termination date of March 5, 2018. Until further notice, the DACA policy will be operated on the terms that were in place prior to being rescinded on September 5, 2017. (Please note: USCIS will not accept or approve advance parole travel requests from DACA recipients.) Applications for individuals who have not been approved for DACA status in the past will not be accepted. More information about the court orders and the renewal process is available on the USCIS website.
According to a March 7, 2018 statement on DACA from the Department of Homeland Security, “With regard to enforcement actions against current and expiring DACA recipients, DHS has repeatedly stated that, absent additional negative factors, DACA recipients are not a priority or target group for arrest or removal.”
Student Outreach Services serves first generation, multicultural and non-traditional students including undocumented students. We welcome any student regardless of immigration status.
An undocumented student is a foreign national who: (1) entered the United States without inspection or with fraudulent documents; or (2) entered legally as a non-immigrant but then violated the terms of his or her status and remained in the United States without authorization (as defined by the National Immigration Law Center).
