Background

Before we started our survey, we looked into peer reviewed journals to see if anyone had tested our question before. We didn’t find anything that was exactly like our idea but we found a number that were very similar or at least related. The two most useful articles I found were about people of different ages and cultures and how often they listen to music while doing different tasks, and whether or not listening to music while studying effects test scores while music is playing in the background. After looking at previous tests we hypothesized that most people would both listen to music while they study and believe that it was helpful.  We also thought that people would listen to lower tempo, more chill music since it’s easier to multitask to music that is less distracting.
