Background
There have been many studies done and books written about mythology of all shapes and forms. We dug through a large list of them just to get to the core of our research, the specific theme of fate in those myths. The articles and books that we found seemed to explain the existence of that particular theme, but never addressed why it was there. For example, in the novel The Norns in Old Norse Mythology by Karen Bek-Pedersen, the author discusses the myths surrounding the nornir, but never mentions why the Vikings talked about them. We felt that perhaps this was a hole we needed to fill. Why did people care so much about their fate back in those early days? We understand that these myths were part of Greek, Egyptian, and Norse religion, but we wanted to delve deeper into that. There’s more to that answer.
