“Because I’m 18
And I still live with my parents”

I was 18 and I did still live with my parents, very fitting.

“Know I’ve never really been the smartest
Yeah I’ve made my mistakes, my mistakes”

While doing tests I noticed I was always writing more on the short answer questions. My writing would fill up as much blank space as possible (not helped by my naturally large handwriting)

 

60 Seconds – Quinn XCII

“Afternoon and I’m feeling zombie
Swear I’m moving too slow, I’m too sloppy”

Since it was always my last class of the day, especially during peak senioritis, everyone always got excited about leaving school. Well, those who hadn’t already skipped.

“I just need a minute, I just need like 60 seconds”

Need a bit more time than average, since most kids always rush through the tests. Along with taking more time to thoroughly explain my answers, I also went over the questions one final time and made any last-minute edits before I turned in any test.

Hello-ello-ello-ello”

I go up and talk to my teacher on the last day of school.

 

Peace Of Mind – The Vamps

“Between me and you when I was younger
I was scared I’d never make it through my life”

Always being a kind of anxious person, obviously I worried I was writing too much on my essays, so I mention it to my teacher.

“I wish I had (Peace of mind)
So give me some! (Peace of mind)”

He tells me he appreciates my writing and would much prefer to grade my tests above most students, which makes me worry about it far less. Because I have encouraging support from a trusted source, why should I worry about my test-taking abilities?

Im thankful for what he said to me, inspiring me to write more and not just on tests. I could email him, but he probably won’t remember me since he has so many students and has been teaching for some time now (not to call attention to his age)

Happier – Marshmello

Now I’m more confident in my writing skills because of my old teacher’s influence. He gave me peace of mind and now I can truly say I’m happier to write.
