Consultations
WesternOnline staff are available for consultations with faculty related to online teaching and learning, course design, instructional technology, and developing and offering new online programs and courses.
WesternOnline Indicators
A series of guidelines for faculty creating intentionally designed online courses. The Indicators use research-based best practices, created specifically for our Western audience.
Course Development Stipends
WesternOnline provides faculty with stipends and support for new online course design and development efforts. Course development stipends follow the guidelines established in the UFWW-CBA.
WesternOnline Template
A Canvas-based course design that features a welcoming homepage, organized module structure, and other helpful navigational elements to improve the student experience.
Build Bits
Build Bits are synchronous, monthly, 30-minute trainings that cover various topics around online teaching and learning.
Teaching and Learning Cooperative Development Opportunities
WesternOnline participates as a founding member of the Teaching and Learning Cooperative. This group provides a variety of support to faculty through professional development opportunities in the form of workshops, faculty mentor roles, other presentations, and documentation. Our team plays a significant role in the planning and facilitation of two major workshops: Instructional Design for Hybrid and Online Courses and Project Development for Inclusive Courses.

The WesternOnline Awards were a collection of honors that allowed online faculty to receive recognition for their efforts in designing intentional and meaningful learning experiences. Awards criteria are tied to the WesternOnline Indicators, a series of research-based best practices that have been developed specifically for Western.
