Last week, the US House of Representatives passed the American Dream and Promise Act, legislation that would create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented youth who came to the US as minors, known as “Dreamers,” as well as individuals with Temporary Protected Status. The legislation would allow DACA recipients who arrived in the US before the age of 18 to apply for conditional permanent residency.
The American Dream and Promise Act, which is strongly supported by President Biden, now heads to the Senate for consideration.
