This fall quarter, Western Washington University welcomed the largest and most diverse freshman class in the university’s history. With 2,809 incoming freshmen students and 1,161 new undergraduate transfer students, this fall’s enrollment also represents Western’s highest number of new transfer students. Students of color comprised 30 percent of the incoming freshman class, and nearly half of new transfer students are first generation college students.
