WWU Women’s Volleyball club is a member of the Pacific Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (PIVA), we compete against a variety of both DI and DII universities. Throughout the season we usually compete in 5 to 6 tournaments, most of them in the Northwest region. Near the end of the season, we also travel to compete in the NCVF National Championship Tournament every year.
We hold tryouts during the fall and generally select between 12 and 16 athletes to be a part of our team. We practice 3 times a week and our competitions consist of tournaments played mostly during winter quarter. As a club it is mandatory to complete 150 service hours throughout the year. Each member of the team is expected to contribute at least 10 hours of service. Fundraising is another important part of our club. We try to keep the out-of-pocket expenses as low as we can, so we have various fundraising opportunities throughout the year. In addition we do require that members pay a team due, the amount of which will be determined by the current leadership.
The club was founded in 2010. We have grown so much, and we are committed to continuing the growth and success of our club!
