2016 Benefit Concert

On June 4, we will be hosting our second annual benefit concert! We had a lot of fun at the first one last year and its success really motivated us to give it a shot again this year. The purpose of the benefit concert is not to make money – that was never the goal in the first place. It is our goal to raise awareness about human trafficking and slavery and we thought a benefit concert could really help us do that.

This year we will have a silent auction featuring some really cool prizes from places who were so generous and willing to help our cause! We will be auctioning prizes from various companies around Bellingham and Whatcom County such as the Pickford Film Center, Casa Que Pasa and Boundary Bay. Whatever we make from the auction, we won’t keep. We plan on donating that money towards fighting human trafficking and slavery.

We are so excited to announce that Joe Sunderland will be gracing us with his beautiful, live tunes. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Underground Coffeehouse located at 516 High Street, right in the heart of Western’s north campus. Be sure to get here early to get a good seat!

Another exciting treat we have for you is a guest speaker joining us from International Justice Mission. Our goal with having a guest speaker at the event is to help students as well as the community learn more about human trafficking and slavery and to get everyone excited about joining the fight. A lot of people don’t realize the capability they have to help this kind of cause. It starts with us and together we can put an end to human trafficking and slavery.

You don’t want to miss out on this incredible experience learning about human trafficking and slavery, hearing good live music and the opportunity to win some sweet prizes. We really hope we see you this Saturday!
