Kameron White

Kameron White is a comic artist, illustrator, and designer who works with traditional and digital mediums, including ink, pencil, watercolor, and digital formats. Within his work, he aims and works towards displaying a diverse group. This includes People of Color, LGBTQ+ characters, characters of different body sizes, characters with disabilities, and characters of various backgrounds. He also places these characters in sceneries that are not common in history, especially Black and Brown bodies in mythological and religious settings.

Craig Hurd-McKenney

In addition to writing for Fantagraphics, MTV and other publications, Craig Hurd-McKenney has been a teacher and currently works as a usability researcher in the video game industry. He is a Xeric Grant-awarded and Ignatz Award-nominated comic book writer/ publisher. Seattle, WA is home to him, his husbro and their three dogs, Lucy, Frannie and Agatha.

Ren Knight, also known as crowcrest, is a nonbinary/bisexual artist from the PNW that focuses on character design. They love drawing d&d characters and is slowly working on an Illustrated Novel series called: Bonds! It’s an LGBT modern magic story about hairy demons & bad wizards. They will be selling prints, stickers, and buttons and will also be taking traditional and digital commissions at the convention!

Vincent Hanson is an Illustration Major at Western Washington University. He has always had a passion for fantasy, animals, and design. Drawing has been his passion for many years, and he enjoys nothing more than drawing on the couch and watching TV with his roommates. He will be selling prints of his digital art, stickers, possibly a few handmade charms, and taking commissions for illustrations.

Chubsydragon Creations is the business name of Saya Collins, a ceramic and fiber artist living in Tacoma. They are currently working towards opening a small gallery/classroom that will uplift and celebrate BIPOC, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ artists in the PNW. They strive to create pieces that evoke joy and remind people of the lightness in the world!

Wholehearted Geek is the brainchild of Kai Stark. Kai strives to create inclusiveness throughout geek culture and hopes that spreading art and awareness of queer and geek culture, as well as mental health awareness will start the conversation. Sevenish Magpies is a charm of noisy birds who bring shiny things to shiny nerds across the Pacific Northwest! Hiding behind the pile of bird friends is Wing (she/they), a trans crafter from the Seattle area. She makes and sells pins (including lots of pronoun pins, which is how this all started!), jewelry, stickers, and other queer nerdy things the birds find and pick out from the pile of ideas.

Mothbug is a design student at Western and a long-time artist and con enthusiast! She’s also pan to the max and loves drawing queer art more than anything else. Most of her work is digital art but she will be selling pottery and other crafts as well in collaboration with her younger sister Thea. In addition to prints, stickers, pottery, and t-shirts, she will also be selling commissions at Queer Con.

Phoenix is a Sophomore double majoring in Studio Art and History. They love crows, tea, sharks, video games and clown and/or cowboy aesthetics. He has a fondness for embroidery and acrylic, and watercolor, but also make digital works and sketch a lot (which they post on their socials). They will be selling embroidery pieces featuring pride flags along with some other art pieces. He is open to art commissions/special requests and will have their information available upon such inquiries.

 

M.A.D.-H.O.P.E.

M.A.D.-H.O.P.E. (Making A Difference-Helping Other People Everywhere) Youth Suicide Prevention offers unique training that reduces stigma around depression and suicide, educates youth to recognize the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, and helps them understand the factors that protect against suicide. They teach practical skills in providing peer intervention for youth contemplating suicide. They believe that connection saves lives, and seek to build upon the resiliency of people groups that are disproportionately affected by depression and suicide.

Odd Fox Armory makes chain mail jewelry and accessories as well as some resin goods such as dice and key-chains. They are owned and run by 2 queer Nerds! They have a specific affinity for making Pride Jewelry and regularly carry items representing at least 10 different gender identities and sexuality with more being available via custom order. These can be in subtle or not so subtle patterns to help people show off their connection to the community! They will have a selection of various products such as their nerd themed key chains as well as a selection of dice. They do custom orders on everything!

Sofie Levin is a student artist, designer, and illustrator studying at RISD who works both traditionally and digitally. Her work focuses on visual development but enjoys creating lighthearted illustrations and creating work inspired by Asian culture/folklore. She hopes to utilize her skills to work on a film or game that can aspire younger generations to be creative and to follow their passions.

Kat Ray King

Kat is currently a Biology PhD candidate at the University of Louisville. On October 30th, 2020 they will be defending their dissertation about how sociocultural beliefs about sex/gender manifest in student learning in the college classroom. Their research uses a queer theory framework to highlight heterosexual, cisgendered, male-focused, and binary conceptions that have become codified as scientific fact. For the convention, Kat will be discussing the different ways that healthcare anatomy/physiology textbooks represent LGBTQIA+ bodies and experiences, and what that can mean for both students and healthcare practitioners.
