ABOUT ME

Since high school, I have developed a deep love for psychology. Currently, I am enrolled in the psychology major at Western Washington University. This love has led me to become passionate about understanding human connection, mainly regarding communication, both behaviorally and cognitively. I hope to generate research that will bring a greater amount of knowledge to the psychology community about how the brain functions.

Entrepreneurship is another passion of mine. Currently I am in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation minor at WWU. It is a truly amazing learning experience. To learn more about my work in this class please check out the “E and I” page of this site!

Personal Hobbies and Sparks

Below is a list of my personal hobbies and things that wake me up in the morning A.K.A. my sparks. Enjoy!

ART

I have been creating artwork since I was a little kid. It is one of the ways I found to express my creativity. I used to focus on black and white ink drawings but recently I have been exploring what is possible with acrylic and oil paints.

TRAVEL

The first time I left the United States was when I was 8 months old. My family took me to Hungary and although I don’t remember it – this was the start to my life of travel. My most fond memories of travel are from my high school summers. I was able to bring friends with me to China, Costa Rica, and Bolivia. My first big trip happened Freshman year when I went to Thailand with my family. It was my first time in Asia and it was awesome. My first month long solo trip with my friend happened senior year in Bolivia.

NATURE & EXPLORATION

My parents met because they were both leaders of exploration groups in college. That’s why my whole childhood was spent outside, on a farm, in the mud, in the woods, or on some sort of mountain. My mom’s side of the family could name all sorts of plants while hiking. I don’t always know names of plants but being outside, especially near the ocean, brings me peace.

CULTURE & RELATIONSHIPS

Part of why I love psychology is because I love watching and being part of different cultures. I work especially hard to build relationships in these cultures. This can mean a lot of different things. For music some of my favorites are raves, rock n roll concerts, jazz (New Orleans), alternative, string band, and all the festivals in between. There are also community cultures I belong to such as the culture of India. Although I follow no religion I find them all to be beautiful and when I travel it’s one of my main focuses.
