The GoPro is a quite capable camera, I would go as far as to say it is MacGyver of cameras; you can use it in just about any situation. And if not, add some duct tape and string and you are set. It’s durability, small form factor, and ability to be mounted to practically any surface has caused a boom of FPV (First Person View) footage.
Although with any boom, I do suspect a bust. As the market becomes saturated with action cams, it has become harder and harder for GoPro to stay in the black as a business. They have announced layoffs, and cutting their products to just 3 cameras (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). It will be interesting, going forward in media, if FPV video will be looked back at as a fad, a revolution; or both.
