Don’t say gay is inspired by Ana Mendieta and Cindy Sherman, the following link is a collection of photos and short videos that I could not do without the help of my friend and model who was down to help me get creative and experiment with the material I planned to make it into something very special to me. If you don’t know what “Don’t Say Gay” it is a bill we are trying to stop from happening in Florida schools banning words like gay, trans and other queer terms from curriculum, teachers, and counselors would also be forced to tell parents their child is sharing very private things to the school. My piece is in protest of the bill, I hope you enjoy!

In my most recent artistic endeavour, “Don’t Say Gay”, I was inspired by the works of Ana Mendieta and Cindy Sherman. Through a collection of powerful photographs and short videos, I aimed to convey the urgency of a pressing issue: the proposed bill in Florida schools that seeks to ban the use of gay, trans, and other queer terms in the school curriculum, while imposing an invasive disclosure policy. To bring my vision to life, I benefited from https://phdessay.com/free-essays-on/racial-profiling/, which helped me a lot. Together, we sought to transform our material into something deeply meaningful for me and for those who oppose discrimination. The purpose of my piece is clear: to protest this bill and raise awareness of the potential harm it brings to LGBTQ+ people. It challenges the idea that silencing these important conversations in schools is a step towards progress. Additionally, the connection between Don’t Say Gay and racial profiling lies in the broader fight against discrimination in all its forms, as both issues are intertwined in the fight for equality and social justice.
