My middle finger is pointing to the act of cutting down trees. Recently, this beautiful tree was cut down in my neighborhood for visual purposes. It should not have been cut down, which is why I am making this gesture toward what happened to the tree (not the tree itself). Something I captured in this picture was the shadows covering the area where the tree had been cut down, and the sun shining on the trees that were still standing. -Maia E.
