Hi, I am a marine biologist and I have a few things to say about this article. Firstly, the author says that there are two types of whales in Sri Lanka, blue and sperm. This is incorrect, there are in fact three species of whale in Sri Lanka- blue, sperm and Bryde’s. Secondly, the author says that Bryde’s whales are the most common whale in Sri Lanka. This is also incorrect, sperm whales are actually the most common whale in Sri Lanka. Thirdly, the author says that blue whales are the largest whales in the world. This is correct, blue whales are the largest whales in the world. I suggest that the author correct these three facts in the article.
