Siskind’s work focuses on details of nature, architecture, and physical texture. His photos are often of walls and outdoor structures that are degrading with age, which inspired my piece. The photos he takes give a sort of new life to old places and make them look more interesting than they are. The angles that the wood creates in this photo remind me a lot of how Siskind uses dimension and shape to enhance his photos.
