This photo is inspired by Aaron Siskind’s black-and-white abstract expressionism work. I arranged the burnt and unburnt wood mixture in my fire pit to represent the wood’s transformation into ash and soil. The title is inspired by Willem De Kooning’s frequent use of two-word titles that are both simplistic and meaningful.
