I chose to use this detail shot of a tree with moss on it as it reminded me of the color transition showcased in Mark Rothko’s Color Field Painting. Though color field painting doesn’t have much of a gradient, I still thought it seemed to emulate the strong bands of color shown in Mark Rothko’s work.
