This grayscale photo was inspired by Jackson Pollock’s style of abstract expressionism, particularly the depth and complexity of his paintings. I wanted to communicate the amount and sheer variety of waste most of us put out to end up in a landfill, so the focus of the photo itself includes the entirety of the bin rather than a single object.
