My self-portrait is a combination of pencil drawing/shading and a polaroid taken of me senior year of high school, in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. I used the faceless icons to represent the people I connected with over social media before moving to Western since it was so difficult to meet people under the circumstances. At this point, the identity of these new people were all relatively unknown to me, but my identity changed through the pandemic as opportunities were so different and I was trying to find my way socially.
