This is a portrait I started not too long ago, but no matter what I did, it didn’t feel like I could get my face quite right which was odd to me since I used to paint portraits for other people all the time with little issue. I realized it’s probably harder for me to accept my own face in a still image as opposed to others. A lot of us look at and critique some parts of our own image more than we do for other people. Of course, this is a well-known idea, but attempting to recreate myself really made me experience it for the first time.
