I was inspired by Byron Kim and his way of portraying humans and humanity without directly using human figures in the art. I was also inspired by Janine Antoni’s way of using the human body in unique ways to create a piece.

This is a blanket I’ve had since I was born. It used to be part of a 3 piece set which were blue, pink, and yellow. Over the decades I’ve had it, the color has been removed entirely by washing it. It has been out of the country with me, moved with me, been with me through all my schooling, etc. I’d hesitate to call it a blanket at this point with how tattered it is but I still keep it under my pillow to this day. I felt this blanket fit this theme because I have lived in and with this blanket my entire life and I’ve used it every night so I feel it is a part of me at this point. The day I finally get rid of it, I will genuinely be sad to say goodbye to something that’s been with me for so long.
