For this piece I was inspired by On Kawara’s precise record keeping, and the blurry line between what is mundane, and what is worth recording, and when dose that record become art? I recreated the movements of my regular morning. At first I wanted to turn off the fan in the background, but it is a staple of my mornings, kept on all night and throughout most of my getting ready process. I wanted to capture the elements of my life right now, because while they are not extraordinary, they will never be quite the same again. The fish is an artistic rendering of what I feel like when I first wake up.
