I made this piece to portray to the abandonment of immunocompromised and at risk people during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the start of this pandemic, most people stood hand in hand with others to protect our communities’ health. However; as it gets to be ”too difficult” to sacrifice some things in order to keep select others safe, the immunocompromised are left to fend for themselves. Immunocompromised individuals are frozen in time doing everything to protect themselves and others while the rest of the world moves on without them. I took inspiration from Aaron Siskind’s work in black and white photography. This was to bring the focus to the concept and not so much the irrelevant physical aspects such as color.
