I feel like the work I’ve created starts to really highlight what can happen when you stop and take a second to just see someone for who they are, and who they can be. As someone who’s been to the Vietnam Memorial, this kind of slowing down to think was very much inspired by that piece and the reaction I had to it. The gravity and the emotion of losing so many lives to war or losing so much potential to promote hate toward specific groups, it can be hard to see until its staring right back at you. The pixel drawing of the left half of the image really invokes the idea that (like with my green hair), there is more to see inside if you just stop and look.
