This piece is meant to comment on the increasing threat Artificial Intelligence poses to the jobs of creatives and the meaning of creativity as a whole. The collage is made of found materials and printed out pictures of AI-generated art, artists I drew inspiration from (Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, and especially Barbara Kruger), and Alan Turing, who created the Turing Test (considered the basis for artificial intelligence).

AI has begin to develop the ability to create art, literature, movie scripts, and more at an alarming rate, and creatives have begun to express fear over their job security. Contestants of the Colorado State Fair’s annual art competition aired their frustrations after an AI-generated artwork took first place. The Writer’s Guild of America began a strike earlier this month. Although AI hasn’t devastated creative fields yet, the time to worry is now, before it’s too late.
