This piece is a demonstration in the commodification of nature as well as the pollution underpinning much of the beauty in our lives. The production of our commodities is polluting and draining our planet and that is resembled by the sea glass. The wire tangled around the shells, glass, and wood represents human kinds cold grasp manipulating nature to its liking. The creations we make with nature are not the product of a loving, symbiotic relationship and are thus bastards born out of wedlock. The shells and glass were sourced from my collection and a couple are some fresh harvests from Semiahmoo Point! As an environmental studies major, my deep passion is to learn and share ways to embrace and reciprocate the care the Earth gives us.

The stickies on the wall are from the poster I moved to hang the project for the photo and can be ignored.
