Ever since I broke my phone on holiday in my teens and lost all my photos I have used Instagram largely to store and share my photos and memories. The portrait takes one of the few selfies I have on the account, a recent one, reduces it to a silhouette, and fills it with photos i have taken of memories from deeper in the account. I use the memories to convey superficial as well as deeper symbolic ideas whose meaning will only ever truly be known to me.
