50 mg of Spironolactone — a single, small yellow tablet — is removed from its container and taken orally. Daily. Every five days — in conjunction with the pill — a 1 ml disposable syringe, 2 separate disposable needles of differing gauges (one for drawing liquid, the other for dispensing it), and 2 alcohol wipes are gathered and systematically removed from sealed plastic and paper packaging. The first alcohol wipe is used to clean to rubber stopper on a glass vial of estradiol, while the first needle punctures the rubber stopper and draws the concentrate from the vial, to the body of the syringe. The needle is replaced with a secondary, and the second alcohol wipe disinfects a small corner of my thigh. A tin of bandages is retrieved, and an adhesive bandage readied.
